The Delays and Their Causes
The recent delay is due to a hydrogen leak detected during a two-day dress rehearsal. This isn't the first time NASA has encountered such issues. NASA has made changes to the fuelling system for Artemis II, hoping to improve reliability. But as Adam Gilmour, CEO of Gilmour Space Technologies, points out, delays are a regular part of the launch process. "[NASA] will do a massive amount of tests as they run up to the launch. If anything goes wrong, they hold the launch."
Launch Windows and Alignment

This alignment is crucial for the astronauts to reach the right location and time for a trans-lunar injection, a perfectly timed acceleration from Earth's orbit to catch the Moon. The spacecraft then loops around the Moon using its gravity, returning to Earth in a figure-eight maneuver, all without additional propulsion.
Additionally, the position of the Earth and Moon in relation to the Sun is critical. The Orion spacecraft, powered by solar panels, can't be in darkness for more than 90 minutes at a time, so maintaining a safe temperature for the astronauts is essential.

The four astronauts have been released from quarantine and will return two weeks before the new launch date. NASA engineers are working to fix the leak before the March launch window. It's a challenging task, but one that NASA is well-equipped to handle.
